For the third year in a row, Netflix has grabbed the lion’s share of Kidscreen Awards nominations, with a total of 13 shortlisted entries. 

Nipping at the streamer’s heels is Sesame Workshop with a dozen nods—double its tally from 2022. 

Buoyed by three nominations for Best Podcast (the newest Kidscreen Awards category), Amazon nabbed six nods in total after not cracking the shortlist at all in 2022. Meanwhile, AppleTV+ has 10 nominations—seven more than last year—including a category takeover for Peanuts content in the Best Holiday or Special Episode kids programming category.

With eight nominations, Sesame Street content dominated the shortlist more than any other IP, while popular Netflix series Heartstopper (pictured) is a hopeful for Best New Series, Best Live-Action Series and Best Inclusivity in tweens/teens programming.

This year’s winners will be announced live at a special awards ceremony at Kidscreen Summit 2023 in Miami on Monday, February 13 that will be hosted by drag performers and child educators Fay Slift and Fluffy Soufflé, who are featured in WildBrain Television’s The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy.
