The Southern Adventist University School of Music invites the public to two free concerts celebrating this special time of year.

Christmas Pops Concert: Full of holiday favorites, the annual Christmas Pops Concert at Southern Adventist University will feature the university’s Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, and Steel Band. Conducted by Ken Parsons and Keith Lloyd, the event will be on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. in Iles P.E. Center. The evening’s seasonal carols and classics will include Away in a Manger and I’ll Be Home for Christmas, among others.

Christmas Sacred Concert: Several ensembles from Southern Adventist University’s School of Music will perform on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 4 p.m. in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists. The evening will feature Bel Canto, Die Meistersinger, and I Cantori under the direction of Gennevieve Brown-Kibble, as well as the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Laurie Redmer Cadwallader. The concert’s theme is “Christ was Born to Save” and will include Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Cantana and Gustav Holt’s Christmas Day, among other seasonal favorites.
