Yesterday morning’s broadcast of the FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Australia on SBS has topped overall programming for Sunday, bringing in 964,000 metro viewers to the network, however it was Nine that dominated in overall share for the evening.

For the week ending 3 December, Nine came out just ahead of Seven with a total network share of 27.3%, over Seven’s 26.2%, while ABC finished the week with a 19.4% share, with Ten on 14.1%, and SBS falling just short of another fourth place finish with 12.9%.

In primary channel share, Nine secure another win with 19%, versus Seven 18.3% and ABC’s 14.4%, while SBS did manage to pip Ten for primary channel share, with 8.3%, compared to Ten’s 7.7%.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 27 November, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.279 million viewers, including 29,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%.

The program with the biggest uplift was the 2022 FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Mexico with an uplift of 68% and a total of 282,000 viewers overall, including a BVOD audience of 113,000 nationally.

Back to Sunday’s overnights and the Argentina versus Australia post-match also brought in an average of 647,000 metro viewers for SBS, followed by ABC’s Death in Paradise with 469,000 metro viewers.

Seven’s broadcast of day five of the Australia versus West Indies test held a fairly strong audience through the day, peaking at 386,000 metro viewers.

Nine’s Snackmasters was next, launching to 379,000 metro viewers, followed by ABC’s morning broadcast of Insiders, which brought in 239,000 metro viewers and an episode of Judy on ABC with 239,00 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News topped news programming with 827,000 metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 668,000, ABC News on 576,000 and Nine’s 60 Minutes with 413,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the evening, taking an overall network share of 30.3% over Seven’s 25.8%, while ABC had 19.3%, Ten took a 14.8% share and SBS followed with 9.8%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Two with a share of 3.9%.
